Our Approach

Our approach is underpinned by a profound comprehension of the challenges confronting West African migrant artists who have the desire to pursue a fine art degree, yet are hindered by a lack of resources or encouragement.

The Migrant Art Foundation (MAF) awards fellowships to exceptional women of West African descent who exhibit great promise in their scholarly or creative pursuits.

Fellowships are granted annually, and prospective candidates are required to apply to the MAF for consideration. We identify the issues that afflict these women, which often remain neglected. Our investments are therefore carefully crafted to yield a measurable and meaningful impact on their lives.

Through the fellowship application process, we allocate investments that mirror our unwavering commitment to fostering advancement in the creative careers of these women creatives. We foster a collaborative approach throughout the lifecycle of each investment, thus ensuring that every dollar spent propels our grantees towards progress and realization of their creative aspirations.

Our focus remains steadfast in our pursuit of effecting transformative change, with a determination to stimulate progress toward a more expansive and inclusive creative education landscape for West African migrant women.
